FAQ

"Where do shabbat meals take place?"
- Shabbat meals take place at beit chabad. To find us on the map click here
During hight season (winter and summer break), if the cround gets very large, Shabbos meals will take place in a nearby hall. You will be inform via email closer to shabbat.

''Do you know which hotel is Shabbat friendly?''
It all depends what you call  Shabbat freindly:
There is one AirBnB place called ESHEL SUITES that is 100% Ok for Shabbat. No high floor, no elevator, no sensors, no electronics keys or doors... and it's luxuous!! Very convenient for Shabbat. 100% recommended.

All hotels have electric doors, light sensors... Most hotels have rooms starting at very high floors. The lowest floors is the Plaza Paitilla inn hotel (starts at 2nd floor) and the Residence Inn by Marriott (starts at the 6th floor). All the hotels in the neighborhood are very familiar with shabbat and Shabbat friendly. They see you coming from far and they will come open doors for you and take you to your room. They can come pick you from your room in the morning... Check our hotels page for more info

''When should I make my shabbat reservation?''
- As early as you know of your trip you can register for shabbat. We really appreciate when our guests reserve a month ahead of time at least.

''What do you serve at the Shabbat meals?''
- We serve a traditional shabbat dinner and lunch. The food is prepared by our in house chef. This includes wine, challah, fish, a large variety of salads, soup, variety of fine meats, poultry, side dishes, beverages, dessert. On Shabbat lunch we also serve our famous cholent and cold cuts. Menu is not alike every week. We vary, this is why we can not share a permanent menu. Chabad Panama Cuisine is known as succulent, tasty and abundant. You will love it!

''Do I have to bring my passport with me on Shabbat or fill out a security form?''
- We recommend to fill out the community security form here. You do not need to bring your passport along with you. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email and this will be enough.

''Can I come before Shabbat and light Shabbat candles at Chabad?''
- Absolutely. We have a table at the entrance with many candles for our guests to light.

''Do you have a vegetarian menu?''
- We do not have a specific vegetarian menu. However we have many vegetarian options on our menu. When a dish has meat/chicken/fish we always try to make it visible. If meat/chicken/fish is not visible in the plate it means there is none.

''Do you have a gluten free menu?''
- Our menu always includes many gluten free options. We are always careful not to mix or touch gluten with non gluten food. If a plate has gluten we try to make it visible. Our meatballs and shnitsels contain gluten.

''Can we go for service in another shul and come to Chabad for the meal?''
- Technically yes, however, we are very punctual with times of our meals and if you go to another shul you might NOT make it on time for Kiddush/Meal at Chabad. So better to daven at Chabad.

''My kids are not going to eat anything, neither to sit, I can have them on my lap... Do I have to register them?''
- Yes you have to reserve for your kid as well. Each person has to be registered to make the security and logistic go smoothly. We charge per person independently on where they will sit or how much they will eat.

``My friend and I registered separately and we would like to be seated at the same table``
- In that case, please send us a request email with your confirmation number and the one of your friend, names and date, and we will make sure you can spend Shabbat meals together with your loved ones.
